How To Get Rid Of Anxiety

The Truth About How To Rid Yourself Of Anxiety Forever. My Recovery Experience.

If you have been searching the internet looking for answer as to how to get rid of anxiety, then this website can more than likely help you.

I became ill with anxiety in 2007 following a particularly bad virus and a very stressful year. Up until then I had been a mostly healthy person. My anxiety disorder was diagnosed late and was made much worse by the fact that I had been misdiagnosed a number of times as part of my illness. In the height of my sickness, I just wanted to "get rid" of it all. I wished someone would give me a pill or tablet that would just make everything better. And I was given pills and tablets, but in my experience they aren't always necessary, and can actually make your anxiety worse.

Anxiety is not an abnormal feeling. We have all experienced at one point or another such as when taking a test or giving a presentation. But if you are searching for how to get rid of anxiety, then more than likely anxiety is interfering with your daily functioning, stopping you from doing everyday tasks, or making you avoid certain situations. If you have health anxiety you may be obsessed with every little twinge or sensation in the body, and constantly be going to your doctors, or ER to get reassurance about your symptoms. You may be googling the internet for exactly the same reasons. If your anxiety is extreme, you maybe experiencing panic attacks that are so scary that you become more and more housebound and agoraphobic, as I did.

If any of this sounds familiar, then I feel for you. At the height of my anxiety illness, I had almost lost the will to to live. I couldn't see the light at the end of the tunnel and just didn't think I would get better. I trusted no-one, least of all my doctors, because what they were saying did not make sense to me, and they had already misdiagnosed me many times. I was losing hope, and knew that some people never made a full recovery from this disorder. I just wanted it to all go away.

But you see, herein lies the problem. With anxiety, it really is quite true that what you resist, persists. The more you fear your symptoms or the situations that give you a panic attack, the worse it all gets. This is because fear creates stress for your body, and this stress feeds the very cycle that is creating the problems that you are experiencing. You have to want your symptoms to come, and that is totally counterintuitive, especially in a medical world that tells us that symptoms are bad, and aims to treat them away. Getting your head around this basic fact is part of the key to making inroads to your recovery.
